Andrew J. Dowty was born in 1972, in Wausau Wisconsin. He went to local high school, played sports and attended music and art classes. He went to University in Madison Wisconsin and after graduation, moved to New York City to seek a career in music and art. An interest in Indian Music brought him to the Music Inn in 2004 where Andy and Jeff came together as teacher and student and for several years Andy learned Indian Raga compositions from Jeff.
A growing desire to get back to building instruments resulted in the transformation of Andy and Jeff’s relationship from that of teacher and student, to partners in an endeavor which continues today and has resulted in the LimulusTM instrument design.
